Welcome to the OIS HelpDesk!

The OIS HelpDesk is a web-based tool developed primarily to assist OIS customers (international students, applicants, scholars, staff and faculty who work with the international community, etc.,) get helpful information about certain immigration processes, submit updates or requests to OIS, and inquire about the status of their request any day or time.

The OIS HelpDesk provides real-time information between OIS advisors and OIS customers with the status of requests, further instructions, and what the "next steps" are for various processes. It allows users to submit requests, or "tickets," to the system that can be modified, appended, and responded to. User requests are acknowledged, tracked, and escalated to another level/person when not closed within a certain time period. It also helps OIS assign different processes to different staff members (load -balancing), do quality control (make sure processes aren't delayed or done differently), and assessment.

Since users can get most or all of the information they need about their request or process from the OIS HelpDesk system we believe that this will result in a significant reduction in the number of emails and phone calls directed to individual OIS staff members, which will allow us to work faster and better. Many OIS request forms or notification/update forms that were once paper-based have also been transformed to form-fillable pdf forms or on-line submission forms.

For instructions on how to use the OIS HelpDesk at NC State, how to create a user login, or submit a ticket, please read the OIS HelpDesk UserGuide or see the related KB article, "How to use the OIS HelpDesk." If you have any questions or need help that is not addressed in the OIS HelpDesk UserGuide, please contact an OIS staff member. Many document requests or status updates (listed by categories) can be submitted through the OIS HelpDesk. To see the latest list of which actions must be submitted through the HelpDesk, which actions are not (yet) processed through the HelpDesk, and which are optional, please check the HelpDesk Procedures Chart.
